Agribolics Technology Ptd Ltd have sought to transfer the biotechnology from the United States of America to Malaysia through the Brain Gain Program under the supervision of Malaysia Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) in 2010. Dr. Mohd Amir Fursan Abdullah, the one leading the transfer, have improved it by adapting the use of oil palm wastewater as the raw material production (patents have been applied for). This simultaneously makes this technology capable of creating sustainable products, safe for the environment by reducing the use of toxic chemicals in agriculture and give higher value to one of the most contaminated agricultural wastes in Malaysia. Since our products do not contain toxic chemicals, the Pesticide Control Board have exempted our products from being registered.

Biological products that have been developed from this high-technology are based on a type of bacteria that is beneficial for plants named the Pseudomonas fluorescens (Pf). This bacteria creates a group of substances with antibiotic properties such as the pyrrolnitrin, the 2,4-diacetylphloroglucinol and other beneficial metabolite substances during the fermentation process. These active substances are capable in resisting soil-originated diseases for plants such as paddy, cotton, cucumber, nuts and corn. From our research, it is found that our products have the ability to resist the Ganoderma boninense which is a disease agent that causes decay on oil palm’s tree trunk.

Our products have been found to increase the effectiveness of the Bacillus thuringiensis biopesticide to control pests. Plants that have been treated with our products show the ability to resist diseases due to the increase of immunity resulted by our products’ ability to induce systemic resistance in plants.
